Naturepedic Takes the Lead in Marketing Healthy Mattresses for Kids with Updated Organic Certification For All Its Current Mattress Products

May 17, 2011 - With receipt of the recent updated Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certificate from Oregon Tilth Certified Organic (OTCO) on all current models of Naturepedic’s baby and kids’ mattresses, the company moves forward as the leader in marketing healthy mattresses for babies and children. According to Naturepedic’s founder, Barry A. Cik, who is also a Board Certified Environmental Engineer, all Naturepedic mattresses use certified organic cotton fill and certified organic cotton tickings. They also include various approved accessories, e.g. steel innersprings and food-grade polyethylene.

The organic certification issued under the Global Organic Textile Standard also includes mattress related products such as mattress pads, pillows and sheets.

“This certification is important to the parents who are our customers, and to the furniture and bedding retailers who sell our mattresses, because we created this company to provide parents with a safer and healthier alternative,” states Cik.

Naturepedic manufactures a full line of mattresses, whether for infants in bassinets or cribs, or for older children in twins and larger sizes.

Naturepedic has also received awards, certifications, and approvals from GREENGUARD; Healthy Child Healthy World; Green America; Organic Exchange, Washington Toxics Coalition, and Naturepedic is the first Level III mattress manufacturer of the Specialty Sleep Association Environmental & Safety Program. All Naturepedic products are made in the USA.
