Natura World Unveils Blog: Embraces New Media as Sustainable Messaging

 

May 2, 2009 - Cutting-edge companies throughout the US and Canada are now reaching beyond conventional mass media and traditional direct marketing efforts to tell their story through person-to-person social media venues. Natura World Inc, the nation’s largest manufacturer of organic and natural bedding and mattresses, has taken the company’s sustainability message one step further with the launch of a blog to compliment the business’s social media efforts.

 

“We want to reach our customers and we want to do it with the least possible environmental impact,” said Natura World President, Ralph Rossdeutscher. “Because of my role in ISPA, our membership with the Sustainable Furnishings Council, our involvement with the Specialty Sleep Associaton’s “Green Initiative and other sustainability efforts, I felt it was important to look at how we’re communicating with the world.”  

 

Natura has been on Facebook and Twitter since 2008, holding regular contests and interacting with people from around the world 24/7. A number of staff members have accounts and often answer questions on the company’s behalf. For Earth Day, Natura invited Facebook fans to post pictures of their mattresses for a chance to win an organic mattress.  

 

“We’re excited about leading the sustainability charge for the home furnishings industry in both products and messaging,” said Rossdeutscher. “With all of our products, we strive to make it easier for everyone to choose green, natural and organic. Now we’re making it easier for the world to interact with us as well.”

 

Launching the Natura World Blog is another way for customers to get the information they need – quickly – and to feel part of the Natura World Family.
