GBS Enterprises
announced that the company is
offsetting the company's carbon
emissions with
Carbonfund.org, one of
the country’s leading carbon
offset organizations. As part of
a comprehensive energy strategy,
GBS Enterprises is offsetting
emissions from its annual
electric and natural gas
consumption, as well as
emissions from all forms of
business travel.
Concerned about Global Warming
and how it is affecting the
world, the company researched
what it could do to help reduce
the effects of Global Warming.
Teaming up with Carbonfund.org
and its reforestation efforts,
GBS Enterprises is offsetting
nearly 20,000 pounds of carbon
dioxide annually; additionally
it has been able to reduce its
CO2 emissions by establishing
energy saving programs within
the company.
Implemented programs include the
establishment of a recycling
program for cardboard and paper
waste; the reduction of
electrical usage from a
mandatory lights-off policy for
office, production and warehouse
areas of the facility when not
in use; the reduction of heating
and cooling system needs from
the use of windows for
ventilation and temperature
control; and the
computer-related print only when
necessary policy implemented for
all staff.
